The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
Cardiff: The byelection in Grangetown division held on 14 August was won by Matt Youde. Green Party gain from Labour.
Newcastle upon Tyne: The byelection in South Jesmond ward held on 14 August was won by Sarah Peters. Green Party gain from Labour.
Defections
Bolton: Susan Haworth, who was elected for the Labour Party in Farnworth North ward, has left the party; although she has declared an intention to join Reform UK, she is sitting as an Independent councillor.
Isle of Wight: Clare Mosdell, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Newchurch Havenstreet and Ashey division, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
Luton: Khtija Malik, who was elected for the Labour Party in Challney ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
Nuneaton and Bedworth: Rob Roze, who was elected for the Labour Party in Heath ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
New vacancies
Ashford: Rolvenden and Tenterden West ward, after the resignation of Green Party councillor Kate Walder. Term ends 2027.
Maidstone: Harrietsham, Lenham and North Downs ward, after the resignations of Independent councillors Janetta Sams and Tom Sams. Terms end 2028.
Somerset: Glastonbury division, after the death of Liberal Democrat councillor Nick Cottle. Term ends 2027.
Dates for byelections
Ashford: The byelection due in Rolvenden and Tenterden West ward will be held on 25 September.
Cardiff: The byelection due in Trowbridge division will be held on 18 September.
