Independent 2. A very heterogenous Merseyside district north of Liverpool, including working-class Bootle, Aintree racecourse, Crosby, and the resort town of Southport which has not stopped resenting being placed in Merseyside.

Labour held Linacre at a byelection on 4 July, and St Oswald at a byelection on 20 June. Natasha Carlin (Blundellsands) and Sean Halsall (Kew) moved from Labour to Independent in April 2024.
