Results
- Aberdeen: The byelection in Torry and Ferryhill ward held on 21 November was won by Audrey Nicoll. Scottish National Party hold.
- Cardiff: The byelection in Llanishen division held on 21 November was won by Siân-Elin Melbourne. Conservative gain from Labour.
- Chichester: The byelection in Loxwood ward held on 21 November was won by Janet Duncton, who returns to the council only six months after retiring from it. Conservative gain from a Green Party councillor elected for the Liberal Democrats.
- Moray: The byelection in Keith and Cullen ward held on 21 November was won by Laura Powell. Conservative gain from Independent.
- West Lancashire: The byelection in Birch Green ward held on 21 November was won by Sue Gregson. Labour hold.
- West Sussex: The byelection in Bourne division held on 21 November was won by Mike Magill. Conservatives regain a seat lost by defection to the Brexit Party.
Changes of allegiance
- Leicester: John Thomas, who was elected for the Labour Party in Humberstone and Hamilton ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Sheffield: Neale Gibson, who was elected for the Labour Party in Walkley ward, has had the party whip suspended for 60 days.
- Southampton: Tammy Thomas, who was elected as an Independent candidate in Coxford ward, has joined the Labour Party.

- Huntingdonshire: Alconbury ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Jim White. Term ends 2022.
- Huntingdonshire: St Ives East ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Jason Ablewhite. Term ends 2022.
- Worthing: Salvington ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Anthony Baker. Term ends 2020.
