The Conservatives gained a seat previously held by an Independent in Helston North ward of Kerrier district council last night. The other two byelections were held by their parties: Labour held on in North Middleton ward of Rochdale borough council, and the Conservatives held the very safe ward of Cobham Fairmile on Elmbridge borough council in Surrey.
