Barnet delayed their count of the East Barnet byelection to this morning, because of the snow yesterday, but this morning the Conservatives held the seat with a large majority.

Labour held Bede (Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough) with the BNP second; this keeps majority control of the council. They also increased their majority markedly in Bensham Manor (Croydon Borough). Meanwhile the Liberal Democrats fended off the challenge to hold Penryn division (Cornwall County).
