  • Redcar and Cleveland council: Byelection on 17 November for two seats in Zetland ward, after the resignations of Ron Harrison and Jim Rogers. Both sitting Liberal Democrat councillors for this ward have resigned over a legal dispute over whether they were disqualified from election in May as members of the teaching staff of Eston Park School; this is a foundation school which is funded through the local education authority and raises the question of disqualification under s. 80 (1) (a) of the Local Government Act 1972. Ron Harrison is seeking re-election as he is no longer working at the school. Both terms end in 2015.
