The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

  • Basildon: The byelection in Vange ward on 21 March was won by Aidan McGurran. Labour hold.
  • Durham: The byelection in Esh and Witton Gilbert division on 21 March was won by Beverley Coult. Liberal Democrat hold.
  • Kensington and Chelsea: The byelection in Dalgarno ward on 21 March was won by Kasim Ali. Labour hold.
  • Newcastle-under-Lyme: The byelection in Holditch and Chesterton ward held on 21 March was won by Kenneth Owen. Independent gain from Labour.
  • Southend-on-Sea: The byelection in Milton ward held on 21 March was won by Stephen George. Labour hold.
  • Thurrock: The byelection in Aveley and Uplands ward was won by David Van Day. Conservative gain from a Thurrock Independent elected for the UK Independence Party.

  • Broxbourne: Broxbourne and Hoddesdon South ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Jim Metcalf. Term ends 2022.
  • Cambridgeshire: Trumpington division, after the resignation of Independent county councillor Donald Adey who was elected for the Liberal Democrats. Term ends 2021.
  • Craven: Upper Wharfedale ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Tanya Graham. Term ends 2020.
  • Hart: Hook ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Mike Morris. Term ends 2020.
  • Kent: Northfleet and Gravesend West division, after the resignation of Labour councillor Tan Dhesi, now Member of Parliament for Slough. Term ends 2021.
  • Kent: Sittingbourne North division, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Sue Gent. Term ends 2021.
  • Lewisham: Evelyn ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Alex Feis-Bryce. Term ends 2022.
  • Lewisham: Whitefoot ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Janet Daby, now Member of Parliament for Lewisham East. Term ends 2022.
  • Manchester: Fallowfield ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Grace Fletcher-Hackwood. Term ends 2022.
  • Portsmouth: Cosham ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Jim Fleming, who was elected as a Conservative. Term ends 2020.
  • Sefton: Norwood ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Bill Welsh, who was elected as a Liberal Democrat. Term ends 2020.
  • Surrey: Haslemere division, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Richard Hampson. Term ends 2021.
  • Three Rivers: Carpenders Park ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor David Coltman due to ill health. Term ends 2020.
  • Thurrock: Chadwell St. Mary ward, after the resignation of the Mayor, Barbara Rice, who was a Labour councillor. Term ends 2022.
  • Tunbridge Wells: Paddock Wood East ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Allan Gooda. Term ends 2022.
  • Tunbridge Wells: Park ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Peter Bulman. Term ends 2020.
  • Waverley: Hindhead ward, after the disqualification of Christiaan Hesse who did not attend any meetings in six months. As his term was due to end in May, there will be no byelection.
  • Welwyn Hatfield: Hatfield East ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Kerstin Holman-Schmidt. Term ends 2020.
  • Welwyn Hatfield: Hatfield South West ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor John Fitzpatrick. Term ends 2020.
  • West Berkshire: Greenham ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Jeremy Bartlett. His term would have ended in May so there will be no byelection.
  • Wolverhampton: Tettenhall Wightwick ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Arun Photay. Term ends 2020.
  • Wolverhampton: Wednesfield South ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Paula Brookfield. Term ends 2020.

  • Craven: The byelection due in Upper Wharfedale ward will be held on 2 May, at the same time as elections for a third of the council.
  • Cumbria: The byelection due in Thursby division will be held on 2 May.
  • East Lothian: The byelection due in Haddington and Lammermuir ward will be held on 9 May.
  • Havant: There will be a double vacancy election in Purbrook ward on 2 May.
  • Kent: The byelection due in Northfleet and Gravesend West division will be held on 2 May.
  • Kent: The byelection due in Sittingbourne North division will be held on 2 May.
  • Manchester: There will be a double vacancy election in Fallowfield ward on 2 May.
  • Sefton: There will be a double vacancy election in Norwood ward on 2 May.
  • Shropshire: The byelection due in Belle Vue division will be held on 25 April.
