The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

  • Adur: The byelection in Southlands ward held on 11 October was won by Deborah Stainforth. Labour gain from the UK Independence Party (who did not defend the seat).
  • Halton: The byelection in Ditton ward held on 11 October was won by Eddie Dourley. Labour hold.
  • Hartlepool: The byelection in Hart ward held on 11 October was won by James Brewer. Hartlepool Independents gain from Labour.
  • City of London Corporation: The byelection for a Common Councilman in Castle Baynard ward held on 9 October was won by Natasha Lloyd-Owen. This is a Labour gain.
  • Warrington: The byelection in Penketh and Cuerdley ward held on 11 October was won by Geoffrey Fellows. Independent gain from Labour.
  • West Lancashire: The byelection in Tanhouse ward on 11 October was won by Ron Cooper. Labour hold.

  • Charnwood: Anstey ward, after the death of Liberal Democrat councillor John Sutherington. Term ends May next year.
  • Oxford: Wolvercote ward, after the death of Liberal Democrat councillor Angie Goff. Term ends 2020.
  • Oxfordshire: Wheatley division, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat county councillor Kirsten Johnson, who is moving to Devon after being selected as Parliamentary candidate for North Devon. Term ends 2021.
  • South Gloucestershire: Dodington ward, after the death of Liberal Democrat councillor Gloria Stephen. Term ends May next year.
  • Torridge: Holsworthy ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Ken Carroll. Term ends May next year.
  • Westminster: Lancaster Gate ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Robert Davis following a standards inquiry. Term ends 2022.
  • Windsor and Maidenhead: Datchet ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Jesse Grey. Term ends May next year.

  • Kent: The byelection due in Canterbury North division will be held on 15 November.
  • South Gloucestershire: The byelection due in Dodington ward will be held on 1 November.
  • Stroud: The byelection due in Dursley ward will be held on 15 November.
  • Torridge: The byelection due in Holsworthy ward will be held on 8 November.
