Another Labour loss, not making it Tupton

The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

  • Carlisle: The byelection in Castle ward on 15 September was won by Anne Glendinning. Labour hold.
  • East Hertfordshire: The byelection in Puckeridge ward on 15 September was won by Peter Boylan. The Conservatives have regained the seat as the previous councillor was sitting as an Independent, although elected as a Conservative.
  • Hackney: Phil Glanville was elected Mayor at a byelection on 15 September, succeeding Jules Pipe who is now deputy Mayor of London. Labour hold.
  • Newcastle upon Tyne: The byelection in Blakelaw ward on 15 September was won by Norah Casey. Labour hold.
  • North East Derbyshire: The byelection in Tupton ward on 15 September was won by David Hancock. Liberal Democrat gain from Labour.
  • Shropshire: The byelection in Bishop’s Castle division on 15 September was won by Jonny Keeley. Liberal Democrat hold.

  • Basingstoke and Deane: Basing ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Clive Pinder. Term ends 2019.
  • Bracknell Forest: Central Sandhurst ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Philip King. Term ends 2019.
  • Cardiff: Grangetown division, after the death of Labour councillor Chris Lomax. Term ends May next year.
  • Denbighshire: Rhyl West division, after the resignation of Labour councillor Ian Armstrong. Term ends May next year.
  • Dundee: Coldside ward, after the impending resignation of Scottish National Party councillor Jimmy Black. Term ends May next year.
  • Hackney: Hoxton West ward, after Labour councillor Phil Glanville was elected Mayor of Hackney. Term ends 2018.
  • Maldon: Maldon West ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Charles Mackenzie. Term ends 2019.
  • Mansfield: Warsop Carrs ward, after the death of Labour councillor Peter Crawford. Term ends 2019.
  • Tandridge: Limpsfield ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor John Pannett. Term ends 2018.
