Leicestershire: Syston Ridgeway division, after the death of Conservative councillor David Slater. Term ends 2021.
North East Lincolnshire: Freshney ward, after the impending resignation of Labour councillor Ray Sutton who is moving out of the borough. Term ends 2019.
Waveney: Pakefield ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Sonia Barker. Term ends 2019.
Waveney: Southwold and Reydon ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Sue Allen. Term ends 2019.
Postponed local election
Southwark: London Bridge and Bermondsey West ward will hold its postponed election on 14 June.

Broadland: The byelection due in Aylsham ward will be held on 24 May.
Derby: With the council now without a majority, there are discussions over its future leadership. The Liberal Democrat group are unwilling to go into coalition but propose a return to the committee system, a proposal supported by the Conservatives and UK Independence Party. The new Labour group leader Lisa Eldret is reaching out to other parties.
Milton Keynes: The Conservatives, who now have more councillors than Labour, are putting forward a motion to remove the Labour leader of the council Peter Marland. Labour has offered to form a coalition with the Liberal Democrats who hold the balance of power; the Liberal Democrats have not yet decided what to do.
Trafford: The Conservative group has announced it will not seek to form a coalition to hold on to control of the council, Labour are having talks with the Liberal Democrats, but have ruled out any agreement with the Green Party.
