Good byelection week for the Conservatives (?)

The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

  • Basingstoke and Deane: The byelection in Winklebury ward on 21 February was won by Angie Freeman. Labour gain from the Conservatives.
  • Epping Forest: The byelection in Chigwell Village ward on 23 February was won by Darshan Sunger. Conservative hold.
  • Kettering: The byelection in Barton ward on 23 February was won by Andrew Dutton. Liberal Democrat gain from an Independent elected as a Conservative.
  • South Hams: The byelection in Charterlands ward on 23 February was won by Elizabeth Huntley. Liberal Democrat gain from the Conservatives.
  • Wokingham: The byelection in Emmbrook ward on 17 February was won by Imogen Shepherd-Dubey. Liberal Democrat gain from the Conservatives.

  • Exeter: St Thomas ward, after the death of Labour councillor Paul Bull. Term ends 2018.
  • Malvern Hills: West ward, after the resignation of Green Party councillor Julian Roskams. Term ends 2019.
  • Melton: Melton Sysonby ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Valerie Manderson. Term ends 2019.
  • Mid Suffolk: Eye ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Charles Flatman who is retiring. Term ends 2019.
  • Mid Sussex: Bolney ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor John Allen. Term ends 2019.
  • Slough: Haymill and Lynch Hill ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Darren Morris. Term ends 2019.
  • West Devon: Bere Ferrers ward, after the death of lead councillor for the Environment Mike Benson, who was a Conservative. Term ends 2019.

Date for byelection

  • Aylesbury Vale: The byelection due in Elmhurst ward will be held on 6 April.
