Stockport: Two councillors have resigned from the Liberal Democrat group, in a row over the future of Stockport market. They are Patrick McAuley (Manor ward) and Mags Kirkham (Bredbury Green and Romiley ward).
Cornwall: Newquay Treviglas division, after the resignation of UK Independence Party county councillor Mark Hicks. Term ends 2017.
Epping Forest: Loughton Roding ward, after the death of Loughton Residents’ Association councillor Ken Angold-Stephens. As his term was due to end next month, there will be no byelection.
Luton: High Town ward, after the resignation of Aysegul Gurbuz who had been elected for the Labour Party but was recently suspended from the party over controversial tweets. Term ends 2019.
Rushmoor: Manor Park ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Ron Hughes. His term was due to end next month, so there will be no byelection.
Dates for byelections
Merton: The byelection due in St Helier ward will be held on 19 May.
Rushmoor: The election due on 5 May in Aldershot Park ward has been postponed to 2 June, after to the death of Ron Hughes, who had been nominated as the Conservative candidate.
