The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- East Riding of Yorkshire: The byelection in Bridlington North ward held on 11 July was won by Mike Heslop-Mullens. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
- Herefordshire: The byelection in Whitecross ward held on 11 July was won by Dave Boulter, husband of Sue Boulter who won but was disqualified in May. The seat is held for the ‘It’s Our County’ group.
Changes of allegiance
- Arun: Ian Buckland, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in River ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Rochdale: Kathleen Nickson, who was elected for the Labour Party in Balderstone and Kirkholt ward, but joined the Liberal Democrats in January, has now joined the Brexit Party.
- Sedgemoor: Diogo Rodrigues, who was elected for the Labour Party in Bridgwater Dunwear ward and was Leader of the Labour group, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- West Sussex: Heidi Brunsdon, who was elected for the Conservatives in Imberdown division, has been expelled from the party and is sitting as an Independent Conservative. Andrew Lea (Lindfield and High Weald division) has also been suspended for six months. It is also noted that Ian Buckland, elected for the Liberal Democrats in Littlehampton Town division, is now sitting as an Independent councillor.
New vacancies
- Aberdeen: Bridge of Don ward, after the death of Scottish National Party councillor Sandy Stuart. Term ends 2022.
- Aberdeen: Bridge of Don ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Brett Hunt. Term ends 2022.
- Corporation of London: Sir Charles Bowman has surrendered the office of Alderman for the Ward of Lime Street. He intends to seek re-election. Term ends 2025.
- Corporation of London: Sir Andrew Parmley has surrendered the office of Alderman for the Ward of Vintry. He intends to seek re-election. Term ends 2025.
- Rutland: Ryhall and Casterton ward, after the disqualification of Independent councillor Chris Parsons who did not sign a declaration of acceptance of office within two months of the election. Term ends 2023.

- Corporation of London: The wardmote for the election of an Alderman for Lime Street will be held on 6 August and the poll on 7 August.
- Corporation of London: The wardmote for the election of an Alderman for Vintry will be held on 6 August and the poll on 7 August.
- North Lanarkshire: The byelection due in Thorniewood ward will be held on 19 September.
- Shropshire: The byelection due in Meole division will be held on 15 August.
- South Lanarkshire: The byelection due in East Kilbride Central North ward will be held on 29 August.
