The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.


  • Gloucester: The byelection in Barnwood ward held on 25 July was won by Ashley Bowkett. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
  • Gloucester: The byelection in Podsmead ward held on 25 July was won by Sebastian Field, who had a majority of three votes over the Conservative candidate. Liberal Democrat gain from Labour.
  • Hartlepool: The byelection in Hart ward held on 25 July was won by Ann Johnson, who had a majority of eight votes. Labour regain a seat lost when the previous councillor left the party.
  • Corporation of London: The poll for a common councilman in Farringdon Within ward held on 24 July ended in a tie between John Edwards and Virginia Rounding. The ward Alderman drew lots and the winning candidate was John Edwards.

  • Aberdeen: The byelection due in Bridge of Don ward, for two seats, will be held on 3 October.
  • Bury: The byelection due in Radcliffe West ward will be held on 29 August.
  • Coventry: The byelection due in Wainbody ward will be held on 5 September.
