Results
- Ealing: The byelection in Dormers Wells ward held on 8 November was won by Mohinder Midha. Labour hold.
- Harlow: The byelection in Bush Fair ward held on 8 November was won by Jodi Dunne. Labour hold.
- Harlow: The byelection in Netteswell ward held on 8 November was won by Shannon Jezzard. Labour hold.
- Torridge: The byelection in Holsworthy ward held on 8 November was won by Jon Hutchings. Conservative hold.
Changes of allegiance
- Clackmannanshire: Chris Dixon, who was elected for the Conservatives in Clackmannanshire South ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Dover: Peter Walker, who was elected for the Labour Party in Eythorne and Shepherdswell ward, has left the party to sit as an ungrouped councillor.
- Leicester: Paul Newcombe, who was elected for the Labour Party in Thurncourt ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor following a criminal conviction.
- Medway: Anne-Claire Howard, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Twydall ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent following her deselection.
- Neath Port Talbot: Scott Jones, who was elected for the Labour Party in Cymmer division, has joined the Independent Democrats group.
- Oldham: James Larkin, who was elected for the Labour Party in Royton North ward, has been suspended from the group and is sitting as an Independent councillor.
- Poole: Peter Pawlowski, who was elected for the Conservatives in Canford Cliffs ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Torfaen: Jason O’Connell, who was elected as an Independent in Greenmeadow ward, has joined the Conservative Party.

- Ashfield: Sutton Junction and Harlow Wood ward, after the resignation of Ashfield Independents councillor Steve Carroll who was originally elected for the Labour Party. Term ends May next year.
- Aylesbury Vale: Haddenham and Stone ward, after the death of veteran Conservative councillor Michael Edmonds. Term ends May next year but is likely to be extended to 2020.
- East Devon: Exmouth Town ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Bill Nash. Term ends May next year.
- Harlow: Toddbrook ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Karen Clempner. Term ends May next year.
- Peterborough: East ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Richard Ferris. Term ends May next year.
- Peterborough: Park ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Matthew Mahabadi. Term ends May next year.
- Stratford-on-Avon: Alcester Town ward, after the death of veteran Conservative councillor Eric Payne. Term ends May next year.
