The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Changes of allegiance
Ashfield: Four Labour councillors have left to sit as Independents: Amanda Brown and Tim Brown (Central and New Cross ward), Joanne Donnelly (Abbey Hill ward) and Helen Hollis (The Dales ward). As a result of their move, Labour has lost control of the council.
Edinburgh: Gavin Barrie, who was elected for the Scottish National Party in Inverleith ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
Torbay: Cindy Stocks, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Ellacombe ward, has accepted an executive post (for housing) and therefore left the council party group to sit as an Independent; she retains her membership of the Liberal Democrats as a political party.
New vacancy
South Oxfordshire: Benson and Crowmarsh ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Richard Pullen due to political differences with the new council leader. Term ends 2019.
Date for postponed local election
Tamworth: The postponed election for Glascote ward will be held on Friday 25 May.
