The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Kent: The byelection held in Birchington and Thanet Rural division on 11 January was won by Liz Hurst. Conservative hold.
- Lancashire: The byelection in Wyre Rural Central division on 11 January was won by Matthew Salter. Conservative hold.
- Thanet: The byelection in Thanet Villages ward on 11 January was won by Reece Pugh. Conservative hold.
- Wyre: The byelection in Preesall ward on 11 January was won by Peter Cartridge. Conservative hold.
Changes of allegiance
- Carmarthenshire: Andrew James, who was elected as an Independent in Llangadog division, has joined Plaid Cymru.
- Kingston-upon-Thames: David Fraser, who was elected for the Conservatives in Old Malden ward, appears to have joined the Kingston Independent Residents Group formed by fellow ward councillor Mary Clark. He is listed as a candidate for the 2018 election and appears on their website, although remains formally a member of the Conservative group on the council.
- Leeds: Jack Dunn, who was elected for the Labour Party in Ardsley and Robin Hood ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor. His move follows his deselection as a candidate.
- Newcastle upon Tyne: David Denholm, who was elected for the Labour Party in Walkergate ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- North Norfolk: Norman Smith, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Erpingham ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Rushmoor: David Bell, who was elected in West Heath ward for the UK Independence Party, is now sitting as an Independent councillor.
New vacancies
- Arun: Marine ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Dougal Maconachie. Term ends 2019.
- Babergh: Simon Barrett, who was elected for the Conservatives in Sudbury South ward, has been suspended from group membership for three months in a row over leaking confidential information.
- Bexley: Lesnes Abbey ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Esther Amaning. As her term would have ended in May, there will be no byelection.
- Birmingham: Kings Norton ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Valerie Seabright. As the full council election was due in May there will be no byelection.
- Bolton: Farnworth ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Asif Ibrahim. Term ends 2020.
- Boston: Old Leake and Wrangle ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Maureen Dennis. Term ends 2019.
- Chichester: Fishbourne ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Sandra Westacott. Term ends 2019.
- Dacorum: Northchurch ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Alan Fantham. Term ends 2019.
- Dorset: Bridport division, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat county councillor Ros Kayes. Term ends 2021.
- East Devon: Exmouth Town ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Pat Graham. Term ends 2019.
- Epsom and Ewell: Ruxley ward, after the resignation of West Ewell and Ruxley Residents’ Association councillor Keith Partridge. Term ends 2019.
- Lichfield: Stowe ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor David Smedley. Term ends 2019.
- Midlothian: Penicuik ward, after the death of the Provost Adam Montgomery, who was a Labour councillor. Term ends 2022.
- Rushmoor: West Heath ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Mark Staplehurst (who was elected for the UK Independence Party). Term ends 2020.
- Rutland: Oakham South East ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor and council leader Tony Mathias. Term ends 2019.
- Solihull: Blythe ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Alex Insley. Term ends 2020.
- South Kesteven: Stamford St John’s ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Terl Bryant. Term ends 2019.
- Staffordshire Moorlands: Leek West ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Robert Plant. Term ends 2019.
- Torfaen: Trevethin division, after the resignation of Labour councillor Matt Ford who has become an employee of the council. Term ends 2022.
- West Dorset: Bridport North ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Ros Kayes. Term ends 2019.
- West Somerset: Minehead South ward, after the resignation of UK Independence Party councillor Tom Hall, who was elected as an Independent. Term ends 2019.
- Wigan: Bryn ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Steve Jones. Term ends 2020. Jones intended to give advance notice of a resignation on 20 February but with no legal provision for postdating a resignation, the council decided the notice was effective immediately and cannot be revoked.
- Wyre: Breck ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Peter Gibson (the former council leader who was elected for the Conservatives). Term ends 2019.

- Chichester: The byelection due in Fishbourne ward will be held on 22 February.
- East Northamptonshire: The byelection due in Higham Ferrers Lancaster ward will be held on 15 February.
- Epsom and Ewell: The byelection due in Ruxley ward will be held on 15 February.
- Halton: The byelection due in Halton Castle ward will be held on 15 February.
- Lancashire: The byelection due in Morecambe North division will be held on 15 February.
- North Norfolk: The byelection due in Worstead ward will be held on 15 February.
- Northamptonshire: The byelection due in Higham Ferrers division will be held on 15 February.
