The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- North Somerset: The byelection in Weston-super-Mare North Worle ward on 31 August was won by Denise Hunt. Labour gain from North Somerset First.
- Scarborough: The byelection in Mulgrave ward on 29 August was won by Marion Watson. Conservative hold.
Changes of allegiance
- Hyndburn: Both remaining councillors from the UK Independence Party have left to sit as Independent councillors. They are Paul Thompson (St Oswald’s ward) and Malcolm Pritchard (Milnshaw ward).
- Sefton: A husband and wife team of councillors who left the Liberal Democrats a month ago have now joined the Labour Party. They are Bill Welsh and Marianne Welsh, who both represent Norwood ward.
New vacancies
- Herefordshire: Kings Acre ward, after the resignation of It’s Our County councillor Mark Mansell. Term ends 2019.
- Hertsmere: Borehamwood Kenilworth ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Thomas Ash. Term ends 2019.
- Kirklees: Batley East ward, after the disqualification of Independent councillor Amanda Stubley who did not attend any meetings of the council for six months. Term ends 2019.
- West Lindsey: Sudbrooke ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Stuart Curtis due to ill health. Term ends 2019.

- Cheshire East: The byelection due in Crewe East ward will be held on 5 October.
- Hertsmere: The byelection due in Borehamwood Kenilworth ward will be held on 5 October.
- Hinckley and Bosworth: The byelection due in Burbage, Sketchley and Stretton ward will be held on 5 October.
- Redcar and Cleveland: The byelection due in St Germains ward will be held on 5 October.
- Salford: The byelection due in Claremont ward will be held on 5 October.
