The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Durham: The byelection in Dawdon division on 29 June was won by Leanne Kennedy, who was re-elected after resigning the post which inadvertently disqualified her from a seat she won in May. Labour hold.
Eastleigh: The election in Hedge End Grange Park ward on 29 June was won by Cliff Morris. Liberal Democrat hold.
Waltham Forest: The byelection in William Morris ward on 29 June was won by Umar Ali, brother of the late Nadeem Ali whose death left the seat vacant. Labour hold.
West Lancashire: The byelection in Derby ward on 29 June was won by Ian Davis. ‘Our West Lancashire’ gain from Conservative.
Changes of allegiance
Portsmouth: Julie Bird, who was elected for the UK Independence Party in Fratton ward, has left the party to form an Independent group with fellow former UK Independence Party councillor Paul Godier (Charles Dickens ward).
South Somerset: Mike Beech, who was elected for the Conservatives in Tower ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
South Ribble: Renee Blow, who was elected for the Conservative Party in Lostock Hall ward, has joined the Liberal Democrats.
Manchester: Fallowfield ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Mike Amesbury, now Member of Parliament for Weaver Vale. Term ends May next year.
North Lanarkshire: Fortissat ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Sandy Thornton, who has declined to sign his declaration of acceptance of office. Term ends 2022.
Peterborough: Park ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor John Shearman. Term ends 2019. If the Conservatives were to win and hold another byelection seat, they would re-establish an overall majority.
