Conservatives are not bewitched in Pendle

The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

Basingstoke and Deane: The byelection in Tadley South ward on 24 November was won by Kerri Carruthers. Conservative hold.
Carlisle: The byelection in Castle ward on 24 November was won by Stephen Sidgwick. Labour hold.
Eastbourne: The byelection in Sovereign ward on 24 November was won by Paul Metcalfe. Conservative hold.
Mansfield: The byelection in Warsop Carrs ward on 24 November was won by Andew Burgin. Labour hold.
Newcastle upon Tyne: The byelection in Blakelaw ward on 24 November was won by Oskar Avery. Labour hold.
Pendle: The byelection in Reedley ward on 24 November was won by Pauline McCormick who returns to the council two years after losing her seat. Conservative gain from Labour.
South Somerset: The byelection in Turn Hill ward on 24 November was won by Gerard Tucker. Conservative hold.
Tandridge: The byelection in Valley ward on 24 November was won by Dorinda Cooper. Liberal Democrat hold.

Brent: Helen Carr, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Mapesbury ward and the sole member on the council, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
Brent: Joel Davidson, elected for the Conservatives in Brondesbury Park ward but part of a separate ‘Brondesbury Park Conservative’ group on the council, has reconciled with the official party group.
North Lanarkshire: Frank McKay, who was elected for the Labour Party in Wishaw ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor. As a result Labour no longer has an overall majority on the council.
North Lanarkshire: Gary O’Rorke, who was elected for the Labour Party in Motherwell South East and Ravenscraig ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
Wokingham: Gary Cowan, who was elected for the Conservatives in Arborfield ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor citing the council’s housebuilding programme.

Dover: Aylesham ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Tommy Johnstone. Term ends 2019.
Eastleigh: Hedge End Wildern ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Emma Norman. Term ends 2019.
Fife: Kirkcaldy East ward, after the death of Labour councillor Kay Carrington. As her term was due to end in May, the next councillor will be elected at the full council election.
Forest of Dean: Lydbrook and Ruardean ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Colin Guyton (who was elected for the UK Independence Party). Term ends 2019.
Gloucestershire: Drybrook and Lydbrook division, after the resignation of Independent councillor Colin Guyton (who was elected for the UK Independence Party). As his term was due to end in May, he will not be replaced in a byelection.
Highland: Wick ward, after the resignation of Scottish National Party councillor Gail Ross. Her term was due to end in May so there will be no byelection.
Preston: Preston Rural East ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Tom Davies. Term ends 2020.
Suffolk: Lowestoft South division, after the resignation of UK Independence Party councillor Derek Hackett. His term would have ended in May so there will be no byelection.
Warwick: Myton and Heathcote ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Raj Mann. Term ends 2019.

Dover: The byelection due in Aylesham ward will be held on 22 December.
Eastleigh: The byelection due in Hedge End Wildern ward will be held on 22 December.
Warwick: The byelection due in Myton and Heathcote ward will be held on 1 December.
West Oxfordshire: The notice last week that the byelection due in Hailey, Minster Lovell and Leafield ward was to be held on 15 December was erroneous. No date has been set.
