The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Bath and North East Somerset: The byelection in Abbey ward on 17 November was won by Lizzie Gladwyn. Conservative gain from the Green Party.
- Dumfries and Galloway: The byelection in Annandale North ward on 17 November was won by Doug Fairbairn. The Conservatives have regained a seat lost through the defection of their previous councillor to Labour.
- Harborough: The byelection in Misterton ward on 17 November was won by Jonathan Bateman. Conservative hold.
- Welwyn Hatfield: The byelection in Haldens ward on 17 November was won by Nathaniel Chapman. Conservative hold.
Changes of allegiance
- Lincoln: Liz Maxwell, who was elected for the Labour Party in Minster ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- North East Lincolnshire: Stephen Harness, who was elected for the UK Independence Party in Humberston and New Waltham ward but left the party in January, has now joined the Conservative Party.
New vacancies
- Havant: Emsworth ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Colin Mackey. Term ends 2018.
- Sunderland: Sandhill ward, after the disqualification of Labour councillor Jacqui Gallagher who did not attend any council meetings in six months. Term ends 2019.
Dates for byelections
- East Ayrshire: The byelection due in Kilmarnock East and Hurlford ward will be held on 26 January 2017.
- Waverley: The byelection due in Cranleigh West ward will be held on Wednesday 21 December.
- West Oxfordshire: The byelection due in Hailey, Minster Lovell and Leafield ward will be held on 15 December.
