Four Liberal Democrat gains in May week

Results

Bradford: The byelection in Wibsey ward on 14 July was won by Jo Sharp. Labour hold.
Cornwall: The byelection in Newquay Treviglas division on 14 July was won by Paul Summers. Liberal Democrat gain from the UK Independence Party.
Cornwall: The byelection in St Teath and St Breward division on 14 July was won by Dominic Fairman. Liberal Democrat gain from an Independent.
Gwynedd: The byelection in Marchog division on 14 July was won by Dylan Fernley. He stood without a description and succeeds an Independent councillor.
Gwynedd: The byelection in Y Felinheli division on 14 July was won by Gareth Griffiths. Plaid Cymru hold.
Islington: The byelection in Barnsbury ward on 14 July was won by Rowena Champion. Labour hold.
Newham: The byelection in Forest Gate North ward on 14 July was won by Anam Islam. Labour hold.
North Norfolk: The byelection in Astley ward on 14 July was won by Pierre Butikofer. Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative.
Selby: The byelection in Byram and Brotherton ward on 14 July was won by Bryn Sage. Conservative gain from Labour.
Wiltshire: The byelection in Trowbridge Grove division on 14 July was won by Chris Auckland. Liberal Democrat gain from Independent.

Stoke-on-Trent: Richard Broughan, who was elected for the UK Independence Party in Abbey Hulton and Townsend ward but has been sitting as an Independent councillor, has joined the City Independents group.

Cotswold: Stow ward, after the death of veteran Conservative councillor Barry Dare. Term ends 2019.
Wandsworth: Tooting ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Ben Johnson who has taken a post as an advisor to the Mayor of London. Term ends 2018.
Wellingborough: Finedon ward, after the death of veteran Conservative councillor and former council leader John Bailey. Term ends 2019.

North Lanarkshire: The byelection due in Coatbridge North and Glenboig ward will be held on 22 September.
Surrey: The byelection due in Farnham South division will be held on 18 August.
Wandsworth: The byelection due in Tooting ward will be held on 18 August.
Waverley: The byelection due in Farnham Castle ward will be held on 18 August.
Waverley: The byelection due in Farnham Shortheath and Boundstone ward will be held on 18 August.
