Northumberland: The byelection in Hexham West division on 4 February was won by Derek Kennedy. He stood as an Independent candidate with no description on the ballot paper, and gains the seat from the Conservatives.
Shropshire: The byelection in Oswestry South division on 4 February was won by Duncan Kerr. Green Party gain from Conservative.
Changes of allegiance
Argyll and Bute: George Freeman, who sits as an Independent councillor for Lomond North, has left the unofficial Argyll, Lomond and the Islands group and therefore gone into opposition. With one seat vacant, the administration currently consists of 10 Argyll Lomond and the Islands group, 4 Liberal Democrats and 3 Conservatives, with support from three out of four Argyll First councillors (this group being split). The opposition consists of 9 Scottish National Party, 3 Reform Group, 1 Argyll First, 1 Labour and Mr Freeman.
Dundee: Maryfield ward, after the resignation of Scottish National Party councillor Craig Melville who has been accused of sending questionable text messages. Term ends 2017.
Perth and Kinross: Almond and Earn ward, after the death of Independent councillor Alan Jack. Term ends 2017.
Rutland: Greetham ward, after the death of the leader of the council, Conservative councillor Roger Begy. Term ends 2019.
Three Rivers: South Oxhey ward, after the death of veteran Labour councillor Len Tippen. Term ends 2018.
Windsor and Maidenhead: Maidenhead Riverside ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor and former Mayor Andrew Jenner. Term ends 2019.

Cumbria: The byelection due in Kendal Strickland and Fell division will be held on 10 March.
North Kesteven: The byelection due in Ashby De La Launde and Cranwell ward will be held on 17 March.
Windsor and Maidenhead: The byelection due in Maidenhead Riverside ward will be held on 10 March.
