Results
- Aberdeen: The byelection in Hilton/Woodside/Stockethill ward held on 30 July was won by Neil Copland. Scottish National Party hold.
- Aberdeen: The byelection in Kincorth/Nigg/Cove ward held on 30 July was won by Stephen Flynn. Scottish National Party hold.
- North Kesteven: The byelection in North Hykeham Mill ward held on 30 July was won by Mike Clarke. Conservative gain from the Hykeham Independents.
- Northumberland: The byelection in College division held on 30 July was won by Mark Purvis. Labour hold.
- Wychavon: The byelection in Droitwich East ward held on 30 July was won by Karen Tomalin. Conservative hold.
Changes of allegiance
- Dumfries and Galloway: Yen Hongmei Jin, who was elected for the Scottish National Party in Lochar ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Tower Hamlets: Mohammed Mufti Miah, who was elected for Tower Hamlets First in Bromley North and was part of its successor the Independent Group, has now become a non-aligned Independent councillor.

- Moray: Heldon and Laich ward, after the impending resignation of Independent councillor Eric McGillivray. Term ends 2017.
- South Cambridgeshire: Bourn ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor David Morgan. Term ends 2018.
- South Oxfordshire: Sandford and the Wittenhams ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Jon Woodley-Shead. Term ends 2019.
- South Staffordshire: Essington ward, after the impending resignation of Independent councillor David Clifft. Term ends 2019.
Dates for byelections
- Caerphilly: The byelection due in Bedwas, Trethomas and Machen division will be held on 3 September.
- Highland: The byelection due in Aird and Loch Ness ward will be held on 8 October.
