The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Changes of allegiance
Bath and North East Somerset: Sarah Bevan, who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Peasedown ward, has left the party to sit as a non-party councillor. She is standing for re-election as a ‘Village Voice Independent’.
Bridgend: Newcastle division, after the resignation of Labour councillor Christina Rees (now candidate for Parliament in Neath). Term ends 2017.
East Riding of Yorkshire: Dale ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Rita Hudson. As her term was due to end next month, there will be no byelection.
East Riding of Yorkshire: Willerby and Kirk Ella ward, after the resignation of Mike Whitehead who was elected as a Conservative but has since joined the UK Independence Party. As his term was due to end next month, there will be no byelection.
Highland: Nairn ward, after the resignation of Scottish National Party councillor Colin Macaulay. Term ends 2017.
South Kesteven: Bourne West ward, after the death of Conservative councillor John Smith. As his term was due to end next month, he will not be replaced in a byelection.
