The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Result

Derbyshire: The byelection in Brimington division on 5 February was won by Tricia Gilby. Labour hold.

Bridgend: Luke Ellis, who was elected for the Labour Party in Pyle division, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
East Hampshire: Guy Stacpoole, who was elected for the Conservatives in Petersfield St Mary’s ward, has joined the UK Independence Party.
East Lindsey: John Byford, who was elected as a Conservative in Skegness Seacroft ward but later left the party, has joined the UK Independence Party.
Glasgow: Stephen Dornan, who was elected for Glasgow First in Govan ward (their sole councillor elected in 2012), has now joined the Scottish National Party.
Redcar and Cleveland: Following the deselection of several leading members by their ward Labour Party branches, ten sitting councillors have announced their resignation from the party and are now Independent councillors. The defectors include the Leader and Deputy Leader, but four members of the cabinet remain within the Labour Party. It is not certain what arrangements will be made for the council administration before the full council elections in May; there is a full council meeting next Thursday.
Stoke-on-Trent: Three councillors who have recently left the Labour group to sit as Independents have now joined the City Independents opposition group. They are Janine Bridges (Great Chell and Packmoor ward), Neil Day (Blurton West and Newstead ward) and Duncan Walker (Baddeley, Milton and Norton ward).

East Lindsey: Sibsey ward, after the death of East Lindsey Independent Group councillor Rick Harvey. As his term would have ended in May, there can be no byelection.
Rotherham: Boston Castle ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Mahroof Hussain. Term ends 2016.
Rotherham: Valley ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor and former council leader Paul Lakin. As his term was due to end in May, there will be no byelection.
Stockport: Bredbury and Woodley ward, after the death of Liberal Democrat councillor Mike Wilson. His term was due to end in May so he will not be replaced in a byelection.
Suffolk: Haverhill Cangle division, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Anne Gower who is moving out of the county. Term ends 2017.

Denbighshire: The byelection due in Rhyl South West division will be held on 19 March.

Rotherham: Following the report by Louise Casey into the governance of Rotherham, the Secretary of State has announced that he will appoint commissioners to take over the council. In the interim the council leader has resigned. There will also be full council elections in 2016 (although the regular election of one third of the council this May is not cancelled).
