The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
St Albans: The byelection for two seats in Marshalswick South ward on 29 January was won by Steve McKeown and Richard Curthoys. Two Conservative holds. The Conservatives might have lost control of the council if they had lost seats.
West Berkshire: The byelection in Purley ward on 28 January was won by Rick Jones. Conservative hold.
Changes of allegiance
Aberdeen City: Alan Donnelly, who was elected for the Conservatives in Torry/Ferryhill ward but left the group in January 2014, has now returned to it.
Gwynedd: Cadnant division, after the death of Plaid Cymru councillor Huw Edwards. Term ends 2017.
Maidstone: Leeds ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Peter Parvin. As his term was due to end in May, he will not be replaced in a byelection.
Dates for byelections
Brent: The byelection due in Kenton ward will be held on 5 March.
Camden: The byelection due in St Pancras and Somers Town ward will be held on 5 March.
Croydon: The byelection due in Selhurst ward will be held on 5 March.
Eilean Siar: The byelection due in Sgir’ an Taobh Siar agus Nis ward will be held on 12 March.
Essex: The byelection due in Bocking division will be held on 5 March.
Moray: The byelection due in Buckie ward will be held on 26 March.
