The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
Cornwall: The byelection in Mevagissey division on 6 November was won by James Mustoe. Conservative gain from Labour.
Rugby: The byelection in Bilton ward on 6 November was won by Julie A’Barrow. Conservative hold.
Changes of allegiance
Canterbury: Two sitting councillors who have not been reselected by the Labour Party have left the party to set up an Independent group. They are former group leader John Wratten and Phil Cartwright, both of whom represent Harbour ward.
Castle Point: Stephen Cole, who was elected in Canvey Island Winter Gardens ward as a candidate of the Canvey Island Independent Party, has joined the Conservatives. His move means that the Conservative administration on the council has now got an overall majority.
