Canvey Island Independents get a Halloween fright

The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

Castle Point: The byelection in Canvey East ward on 30 October was won by Colin Letchford. Independent gain from Canvey Island Independent Party.
Neath Port Talbot: The byelection in Sandfields East division on 30 October was won by Matthew Crowley. Labour hold.
North Ayrshire: The byelection in North Coast and Cumbraes ward on 30 October was won by Grace McLean. Scottish National Party hold, thereby retaining control of the council.
Telford and Wrekin: The byelection in Ironbridge Gorge ward on 30 October was won by Ken Stringer. Labour hold.
Telford and Wrekin: The byelection in Newport West ward on 30 October was won by Peter Scott. Independent gain from Conservative.

Dudley: Glenis Simms (Wordsley ward) and Cheryl Billingham (Kingswinford North and Wall Heath ward), both of whom were elected for the Conservatives, have joined the Labour Party.

Adur: St Mary’s ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Mike Mendoza. Term ends 2018.
Broxtowe: Toton and Chilwell Meadows ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Marilyn Hegyi. Term ends May next year.
Kingston-upon-Thames: St James ward, after the death of former Conservative group leader Howard Jones. Term ends 2018.

Argyll and Bute: The byelection due in South Kintyre ward will take place on 11 December.
Broxtowe: The byelection due in Toton and Chilwell Meadows ward will take place on 11 December.
Mansfield: The byelection due in Netherfield ward will take place on 4 December.
Rossendale: The byelection due in Longholme ward will take place on 4 December.
Sunderland: The byelection due in Washington East ward will take place on 11 December.
Thurrock: The byelection due in Aveley and Uplands ward will be held on 4 December.

Wrexham: Following the recent leadership turmoil, an all-party administration has been formed under an Independent leader.
