The latest information about local electoral matters is as follows:
Blaby district council: Michael Potter was elected councillor for Pastures ward on 27 September, holding the seat for the Conservative Party.
Boston borough council: Byelection on 18 October in Frampton and Holme ward after the resignation of Independent councillor Bernard Rush, who feels that the council is not making any difference. Term ends 2015.
Norfolk county council: Alex Kemp was elected county councillor for Clenchwarton and King’s Lynn South division on 27 September. She gains for the Labour Party a seat previously held by the Conservatives. Meanwhile Stephen Bett, who was elected as a Conservative in North Coast division, has left the party to sit as an Independent, because he has decided to stand as an Independent candidate for Police and Crime Commissioner.
North Hertfordshire district council: There are two vacancies. Hitchwood, Offa and Hoo ward has a vacancy after the death of Conservative councillor David Miller; the term ends in 2014. Letchworth South East ward has a vacancy after the resignation of Conservative councillor Richard Harman; the term there ends in 2015.
