Derbyshire Dales district council: Joanne Wild was elected councillor for Stanton ward on 23 June, in an election deferred from 5 May after the sole candidate nominated withdrew. She retains the seat for the Conservative Party.
South Kesteven district council: The three councillors for Deeping St James ward elected on 23 June are Phil Dilks (no description), Judy Stevens (Independent) and Ray Auger (Conservative Party), who was re-elected. Dilks is a former Labour Party county councillor for the local division but stood on his own record as ‘Fair Deal Phil’; it is not known whether he intends to join the Labour group on the council. The ward had been held by two Conservatives and a Liberal Democrat in the previous term.
East of England
Broxbourne borough council: Byelection on 30 June in Cheshunt Central ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Jason Brimson who has been arrested on suspicion of fraud. Term ends 2014.
Wandsworth borough council: Byelection on 30 June in Thamesfield ward due to the resignation of council leader Edward Lister, who has been appointed Chief of Staff to Boris Johnson and Deputy Mayor for Planning. Term ends 2014.

Warrington council: Byelection on 28 July in Poulton North ward after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Sharon Wilson. Term ends May next year.
Isle of Wight council: Ivor Warlow was elected councillor for Binstead and Fishbourne ward on 23 June. He stood as an Independent candidate and took (by four votes) a seat previously held by the Conservatives.
Wokingham council: Byelection on 21 July in Remenham, Wargrave and Ruscombe ward after the resignation of Conservative councillor Claire Stretton, who has moved to Maidenhead and was elected as a councillor for Boyn Hill ward on the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead earlier this month. Term ends 2012.
Wychavon district council: Roma Kirke was elected councillor for Elmley Castle and Somerville ward on 23 June. She was elected for the Conservative Party and retains the seat after no candidates were nominated in the full council elections (the sitting councillor died just before close of nominations).
Gwynedd county council: Byelection on 21 July in Glyder division after the death of Plaid Cymru councillor Dai Rees Jones. Term ends in May next year. If Plaid Cymru hold the seat, they will have an overall majority on the council.
Aberdeen city council: Scottish National Party candidate Gordon Townson was elected councillor for Airyhall/Broomhill/Garthdee ward on 23 June, gaining the seat from an Independent who had been elected as a Liberal Democrat. As a result the SNP are now the largest party on the council. The council is run by a coalition between the Liberal Democrats and SNP, and the leader of the Liberal Democrat group John Stewart has resigned as Leader of the council to allow the SNP group leader to take the position.
Edinburgh city council: Impending vacancy in City Centre ward after the 30 June resignation of Scottish National Party councillor David Beckett, who is to attend a course at Harvard. Term ends May next year.
