The four Respect councillors on Tower Hamlets borough council have completed their move to Labour, giving the party a clear majority on the council.
There are two enforced party switches to note, both with a Watford connection. Hugh O’Hanlon, elected as a Liberal Democrat to Watford borough council, has had the whip withdrawn after pleading guilty to drink driving. The Conservative Parliamentary candidate for Watford, Ian Oakley, has stepped down after his arrest on suspicion of criminal damage, and has also left the Conservative Party; he is now sitting as an Independent councillor on Hillingdon borough council.
