It’s one in, one out for the Liberal Democrats. On election night, Liverpool city council‘s Liberal Democrat group managed to persuade Nadia Stewart, who had been sitting as an Independent councillor after being elected as Labour, to join them and thereby restore their overall majority which the electorate was taking away.

Meanwhile Keith Watson, who was re-elected as a Liberal Democrat to Calderdale borough council on 1 May, has joined the Conservative group.
