Labour and Lib Dems organise coup in Southampton

At Southampton city council‘s budget meeting last night, Labour and Liberal Democrat councillors joined forces first to pass through a jointly-agreed budget, and then to vote out the minority Conservative leadership and vote in a new coalition deal. Labour’s June Bridle will be Leader of the council, with an executive comprising six Labour and four Liberal Democrats.
