No seats changed hands in this week’s byelections. The Conservatives held their seat at Higham Ferrers Lancaster ward of East Northamptonshire district council in an unopposed return, and also kept St Mary’s ward on North Tyneside borough council. Labour held its seat at Dunston and Teams ward of Gateshead borough council, and the Liberal Democrats held theirs at Saddleworth West and Lees ward of Oldham borough council.
