Three councillors have recently come over all defective.

Walter Ferrier, who has been a Labour councillor on Middlesbrough borough council for fifty years, has left the party after being deselected and is sitting as an Independent.

Howard Gore, elected as Labour county councillor for Penwortham South in Lancashire, has also resigned to sit as an Independent.

Mal Sheldon of Melton district council has been slightly more decisive and has switched from Labour to the Conservatives.
