Elmbridge council in Surrey has been hit by a series of changes over the past two days. Alan Kopitko, elected first in 1999 for the Walton Society and a member of the Residents’ Associations group of councillors, has joined the Conservatives. Alex Nissen, first elected in 1998, who had been an Independent, has rejoined the Walton Society and the Residents Associations Group.
On 15 January the death was announced of Hugh Ashton, Leader of the Elmbridge Liberal Democrat group.
