The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Changes of allegiance

New vacancies

  • Derbyshire: Staveley division, after the disqualification of Labour councillor Helen Elliott who did not attend any council meetings in six months. There will be no byelection as her term was to have ended in May.
  • Mid Devon: Upper Culm ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Glanmor Hughes. Term ends 2023.
  • Newark and Sherwood: Bridge ward, after the resignation of Independent veteran councillor Gill Dawn. Term ends 2023.
  • North Lanarkshire: Murdostoun ward, after the death of Independent councillor Robert McKendrick. Term ends 2022.

Dates for byelections

  • None set this week.

Other updates

  • Ryedale: The full council this week approved the new administration which will be led by a Liberal Party councillor and involve the Liberals and the Independents for Ryedale. The Conservatives and Independent Group have assented to the new leadership.
