The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Dover: The byelection in Guston, Kingsdown and St Margaret’s-at-Cliffe ward held on 27 August was won by Ingrid Dodd. Green Party gain from the Conservatives.
- Newcastle upon Tyne: The byelection in Throckley, Walbottle and Newburn ward held on 27 August was won by Martin Evison. Reform UK hold.
- St Helens: The byelection in Billinge and Seneley Green ward held on 27 August was won by Steve Owen. Labour gain from Reform UK.
- Sheffield: The byelection in Southey ward held on 27 August was won by Paul Jakeman. Reform UK gain from an Independent elected for Labour.
- Wandsworth: The byelection in Trinity ward held on 27 August was won by Shirin Georgiani. Labour hold; had the Conservatives won, they would have secured an overall majority.
Defections
- Kingston-upon-Hull: Maria Coward, the Lord Mayor of Hull who was elected for the Liberal Democrats in Boothferry ward, has left the party group to sit as an Independent councillor.
- North Lanarkshire: Tracy Carragher, who was elected for the Scottish National Party in Coatbridge South ward but suspended from the group in April, has been cleared and resumed full membership.
- Swindon: Lawrence Davies, who was elected for Reform UK in Rodbourne Cheney ward, has left the party.
New vacancy
- Lambeth: Myatt’s Fields ward, after the death of Labour councillor Annie Gallop. Term ends 2030.

- Aberdeen: The byelection due in Midstocket / Rosemount ward will be held on 8 October.
- Amber Valley: The byelection due in Kilburn, Denby, Holbrook and Horsley ward will be held on 8 October.
- Blackpool: The byelection due in Claremont ward will be held on 1 October.
- North West Leicestershire: The byelection due in Long Whatton and Diseworth ward will be held on 1 October.
- Newcastle-under-Lyme: The byelection due in Town ward will be held on 8 October.
- Northumberland: The byelection due in Amble division will be held on 1 October.
- Stirling: The byelection due in Forth and Endrick ward will be held on 1 October.
